LoRaWAN Sensors for Water, Wastewater and Tanks

Level, pressure and the connection of existing instruments are the core of water and wastewater monitoring over LoRaWAN. Wireless sensors bring readings from wet wells, tanks, pipelines and remote sites to the operator without trenching cable or installing a SCADA panel at every location.

Level in wet wells and tanks

Ultrasonic sensors measure distance to the liquid surface from above. Submersible transmitters measure level from the hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of a tank or well.

Connecting instruments already in the field

Many sites already have flow meters, analyzers and transmitters with 4-20 mA, digital or RS-485 outputs. A LoRaWAN controller or converter reads those signals and sends them over the network, which brings existing instruments online at low cost.

Hazardous areas

Wet wells and treatment headworks can be classified hazardous locations. Explosion-rated LoRaWAN sensors are grouped in the Explosion-Rated Sensors (ATEX and Ex) collection; confirm the certification and zone of each device against the site classification.
